On April 26, 2018, Professor Dr. Prasit Watanapa, Dean of Faculty of Medicine led Siriraj faculties, personnel and staffs celebrate the 130th Founding Anniversary of Siriraj Hospital at Prince Mahidol Statue. The event held under the concept traditional Thai costume to preserve Thai culture and commemorate all 130 projects those have been operated and initiated by Siriraj Hospital for the benefit of mankind.

On April 26, 2018, Associate Professor Dr. Thawornchai Limjindaporn, Deputy Dean of Postgraduate Education and Professor Pa-thai Yenchitsomanus visited University of Glasgow, United Kingdom to join the discussion for the further collaboration in academic mobility under the MOU between Siriraj and Glasgow.

On this occasion, we thank Professor George Baillie, Dean of Graduate Studies, and Professor Christopher Loughrey, College International Dean, College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences, University of Glasgow, UK and his team for a very warm hospitality!

The four-day meeting is designed to provide ongoing updated information on all aspects of maternal-fetal intervention for fetal anomalies, physiologic and genetic disorders. Presenters will share research, new innovation and techniques, clinical experience, outcome data and will debate new and ongoing controversies in maternal-fetal medicine.

The meeting will continue the long-standing tradition of the IFMSS which encourages delegate participation at all levels, from senior and world-renowned fetal therapists to young investigators, research, and clinical fellows.

It will provide a platform for international collaboration, networking, and exchange of viewpoints in the common interest of the advancement of the field of fetal diagnosis and therapy. This year, the meeting will come to Asia, this is only the second time this meeting has come to this part of the world.

On April 3, 2018, Professor Suwannee Suraseranivongse, Deputy Dean and Director of Siriraj Medical School, Professor Thawatchai Akaraviputh, Deputy Dean for International Relations, and Professor Surapol Issaragrisil, Director of Siriraj Center of Excellence for Stem Cell Research congratulated Professor Dr. Davor Solter, Siriraj international visiting scholar of Siriraj Centre of Excellence for Stem Cell Research (SiSCR) for his achievement on Canada Gairdner International Award 2018; the discovery of mammalian genomic imprinting. On this occasion, Professor Solter also delivered his contribution via special lecture on “Epigenetic Control of Mammalian Development” to Siriraj faculties and medical personnel.

On behalf of Pain Medicine Division, Department of Anesthesiology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, we are pleased to announce the selected candidates who will undertake the fellowship training in Pain Management 2018 (1 year program). The namelist of selected candidates are listed as below;

In the afternoon of March 28th, 2018, Siriraj executive members led by Professor Dr. Prasit Watanapa, Dean of Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital visited Jiangsu Province Hospital of TCM, PRC. The group received a very warm welcome by Professor Fang Zhuyuan, Dean of Jiangsu Province Hospital of TCM and team. The MOU highlights to collaboration in the fields of education, research and academic services between Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University and Jiangsu Province Hospital of TCM.

The group received a very warm welcome by Dr. HAN Guangshu, President, and executive members team. The MOU was signed and committed both institutes to working together towards academic and educational exchange for mutual benefits.

On March 28, 2018, Professor Suwannee Suraseranivongse, Deputy Dean and Director of Siriraj Medical School welcomed with Dr. Coralie Dimacali from University of the Philippines College of Medicine to have a discussion on the ASEAN medical school accreditation system.

On March 23, 2018, Professor Dr. Prasit Watanapa, Dean of Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital presided over the 2nd Asia-Pacific Cholangiocarcinoma Conference. The international conference was co-hosted by five prestigious intitutes: Mayo Clinic; The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center; Thai Society of Clinical Oncology; The Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation; and Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospita, and held during March 23 – 24, 2018 at Rachapanaddasirindhorn Auditorium, Srisavarindira Building, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, under the objectives to provide an opportunity for the participants to learn and share knowledge on Cholangiocarcinoma disease that will bring about the ability to improve the outcome of patient treatment.

The conference was seasoned by many reputed speakers. The reporting remark was given by Assistant Professor Charuwan Akewanlop, Chief, Division of Medical Oncology, Department of Medicine and Associate Professor Mitesh Borad, Director of Liver and Biliary Cancer Research Program Mayo Clinic, Phoenix, Arizona.
