Welcome, Mr. Gryt Chuentim, a 6th-year student at Brandenburg Medical School – Theodor Fontane, Germany, on his elective study at Division of General Surgery, and Division of Trauma Surgery, Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University. Covering Minimally Invasive, Hepatopancreaticobiliary (HPB), Colorectal, and Trauma Surgery, Mr. Gryt aims to gain diverse surgical experiences from January 1st -February 23rd, 2024.

On November 28th, 2023, Prof. Apichat Asavamongkolkul, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, led a distinguished delegation during their visit to Peking University Health Science Center (PKUHSC). The Siriraj’s delegation comprised key figures including Prof. Yongyut Siriwattanaaksorn, Director of Siriraj Hospital; Assoc. Prof. Thawornchai Limchindaporn, Deputy Dean of Postgraduate Education; Assoc. Prof. Sith Sathornsumethee, Deputy Dean of Research and Innovation; Assoc. Prof. Prapat Wanitpongpan, Deputy Dean for Corporate Communication and International Relations; Assoc. Prof. Trongtham Thongdee, Chairman of the Department of Radiology; Prof. Vip Viprakasit from the Department of Pediatrics; Assoc. Prof. Atthaporn Trakansanga and Assoc. Prof. Tawatchai Taweemonkongsap from the Department of Surgery, and Assoc. Prof. Pittaya Dankulchai from the Department of Radiology.

The reception by Prof. Duan Liping, Vice President of Peking University Health Science Center, set a positive tone for the visit. Substantive discussions unfolded, laying the groundwork for potential future collaborations between the institutions.
Beyond the academic discourse, the delegation delved into exploring the National Institute of Health Data Science at Peking University. A comprehensive tour of the Peking University Medical Science and Technology Building and the facilities of HY Medical Company further enriched the visit. This engagement not only facilitated knowledge exchange but also established meaningful connections, marking a significant stride in fostering collaborative efforts between Siriraj Hospital and Peking University Health Science Center.

Ms. Wei is participate with the Division of Urology, Department of Surgery from November 20th – December 1st, 2023 and Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology during December 4th – 15th, 2023 while Ms. Huang, and Mr. Tu is engaging with Department of  Obstetrics and Gynecology from November 20th – December 15th, 2023.

Prof. Kanokwaroon Wattananirun, Assistant Dean for International Relations welcome Prof. Mohamed AI-Moamary, Vice President of Development & Quality Management Affairs, and the guests from King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences, Saudi Arabia, on visit and discussion at Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University. The visit included insightful discussions on shared interests and potential collaborations in academic and research endeavors. The guests also had the opportunity to explore the Siriraj Stroke Center and Siriraj Aortic Center during their visit.

On November 15th, 2023, the Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, organized an event titled “Eras in Cardiac Surgery” at the Udom Poshakrishna Conference Room in the Sayamindra Building’s 12th Room. The highlight of the event was the honorable presence of Asst. Prof. Marc W. Gerdisch, MD, Chief of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery, and Co-Director of the Heart Valve Center and Atrial Fibrillation Program at Franciscan St. Francis Health, USA. As our special speaker, he shared his extensive expertise in complex heart valve surgery and 21 years of experience in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery.

 

On November 7th, 2023, Professor Apichat Asavamongkolkul, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, along with administrative members, presided over an awards ceremony recognizing the achievements in “Educational Unit English Performance,” which had been assessed by the International Relations Office. This initiative aimed at assessing the level of English proficiency within all 28 departments and schools in the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University.
