On March 18th, 2019, Prof. Dr. Prasit Watanapa, Dean of Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital presided over the 8th Siriraj International Medical Microbiology, Parasitology and Immunology Competition (SIMPIC 2019) at Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University.
SIMPIC is an international platform for medical students to challenge themselves, get to know others, and find inspiration. It is also a competition for medical students around the world who have an interest in infectious medicine, and have preferably finished their preclinical microbiology, immunology, and parasitology courses.
This year, we would like to congratulate to Chulalongkorn University Team 1 from Thailand, the winner of SIMPIC 2019! The 1st and 2nd runner-up go to, respectively, Seth Gordhandas Sunderdas Medical College from India, and KEM Hospital Thammasat University Team 2 from Thailand.

Welcome! Dr. Sara Schwanke Khilji, Ms. Julie Martchenke, medical students and nursing practitioners from Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU), USA for the Inter-professional Education Program which is an initiative project under the collaboration between the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Faculty of Nursing, Mahidol University and OHSU, USA. The program will be held from March 18th – 29th, 2019.




Assoc. Prof. Sith Sathornsumetee, Assistant Dean for International Relations and Deputy Manager, Siriraj Center of Research Excellence Management (Si-CORE-M) Unit visited Seoul national university college of medicine (World QS rank #31) on March 15th, 2019 to discuss about research management and support with Prof. Chan Soo Shin, Dean SNUCM and Prof. Jae-Young Lee, Vice Dean for Research Affairs.

On March 15th, 2019, Prof. Thawatchai Akaraviputh, Deputy Dean for International Relations along with Dr. Methichit Wattanapanitch from Biomedical Research Incubator Unit, Research Department welcomed Prof. Stephen Dalton from Center for Molecular Medicine, University of Georgia, USA to serve as Siriraj Visiting Scholar at the Biomedical Research Incubator Unit ,Research Department from March 8th – April 8th, 2019.
