On April 30th, 2024, the Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University, embarked on a visit to explore the management systems at the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University. This collaborative initiative aims to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and solutions about management systems in education, service, and research. We extend our heartfelt appreciation for the warm welcome the executive team from the Faculty of Pharmacy received.

We are incredibly grateful for the honor bestowed upon us by Assoc. Prof. Sith Sathornsumetee, Deputy Dean of Research and Innovation, led the discussions. Our sincere thanks also go to Asst. Prof. Woraphat Ratta-apha, Head of the Center of Research Excellence, provided a brief introduction of our strategic unit; Prof. Oranee Sanmaneechai, Deputy Head, and Ms. Sarinya Ngamtipvatana, Head of the Research Department, who actively participated in the discussions.

We eagerly look forward to future visits and opportunities for collaboration, as we continue our collective journey towards excellence in research management.

From May 3rd – 7th, 2024, Dr. Tissana Prasartseree, MD, a Clinical Educator from the Division of Radiation Oncology, Department of Radiology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, presented an oral presentation on the topic “CT- and MRI-based Bone Marrow Dose in CCRT for Cervical Cancer: A Pooled Data from 2 Prospective trials” at The European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO) 2024 in Glasgow, United Kingdom. Dr. Prasartseree aims to publish this research and establish a new standard in radiotherapy planning for cervical cancer, integrating bone marrow dose constraints.

ESTRO 2024, themed “Radiation Oncology: Bridging the Care Gap”, aims to strengthen radiation oncology’s role as a vital partner in multidisciplinary cancer care. The society’s vision for 2030, “Radiation Oncology. Optimal Health for All, Together”, underscores its commitment to providing accessible, high-value radiation therapy for all cancer patients. The conference will feature Europe’s largest industry exhibition in radiation oncology, offering unparalleled opportunities to engage with industry leaders and explore cutting-edge advancements in technology, techniques, and oncology products.

From May 3rd – 7th, 2024, Mr. Wisawa Phongprapun, a medical physicist from the Division of Radiation Oncology, Department of Radiology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, attended and presented a digital poster on the topic “Cone Beam CT Correction for Preoperative Short Course Radiotherapy for Locally Advanced Rectal Cancer” at “The European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO) 2024” in Glasgow, United Kingdom.
