Assoc. Prof. Sanitra Anuwutnavin, M.D., of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, attended the conference and presented a 1-minute talk & research poster presentation on the topic “Fetal Cardiothoracic Ratio Assessed by 3 Different Measurement Techniques in Prediction of Bart’s Hydrops Fetalis at 17-22 Weeks of Gestation” at The XXIV FIGO World Congress of Gynecology and Obstetrics in Paris, France, from October 9th – 12th, 2023.

The XXIV FIGO World Congress of Gynecology and Obstetrics is the leading and most comprehensive global event in gynecology and obstetrics. The participants will be able to update and improve their clinical practice, build relationships with peers from around the world, and learn from leading experts in all aspects of women’s health. The FIGO World Congress offers a truly comprehensive and global evidence-based scientific programme that has been developed with supporting organizations like the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Association of Trainees in Obstetrics & Gynecology (WATOG), FIGO’s divisions and committees, member societies and regional federations.

On October 12th, 2023, the “Siriraj International Residency & Fellow Exchange Program Committee” led by Assoc. Prof. Prapat Wanitpongpan, M.D., Deputy Dean for Corporate Communication and International Relations; Assoc. Prof. Thawornchai Limjindaporn, M.D., Ph.D., Deputy Dean of Postgraduate Education; Assoc. Prof. Tripop Lertbunnaphong, M.D., Deputy Dean of Undergraduate Education; and Asst. Prof. Kanokwaroon Watananirun, M.D., Assistant Dean for International Relations; conducted an English interview for the “Siriraj International Residency & Fellow Exchange Program 2024 (1st-round pick)” to Siriraj’s fellow/resident candidates from each department as follows:

 

Department of Ophthalmology: Dr.Chavin Thetisaksakal (3rd-Year Resident), Dr.Chayanit Junsangsri, and Dr.Rawi Jongpipatchai (both 3th-Year Resident);

Department of Dermatology: Dr.Yutarat Suwanchatkul and Dr.Nuntouchaporn Amonchaisakda (both 4th-year Residents);

Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology: Dr.Pattrinee Boonyapisomparn (2nd-Year Fellow);

Department of Surgery: Dr.Techin Wasinsangworn (5th-Year Resident);

Furthermore, the Committee also conducted a reviewing session for the “on-line” reflection report of “Siriraj International Residency & Fellow Exchange Program 2023 (2nd-round pick)” presented by the former successful candidates as follows:

On October 9th, 2023, Prof. Apichat Asavamongkolkul, along with Siriraj administrative members and distinguished guests from  Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU), Germany led Prof. Wolfgang Böcker; Dr. Georg Hartung, from Garmisch-Partenkirchen Hospital; Prof. Peter Augat, Berufsgenossenschaftliche Unfallklinik Murnau; and Prof. Christian von Rüden, Kliniken Nordoberpfalz AG Weiden Medical Center, presided over the “Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Signing Ceremony” between Siriraj and Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, Garmisch-Partenkirchen Hospital, Berufsgenossenschaftliche Unfallklinik Murnau, and Kliniken Nordoberpfalz AG Weiden Medical Center. This MOU aims to support and promote academic and research cooperation among these parties.

Asst. Prof. Kanokwaroon Watananirun of the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, attended and delivered a research presentation on the topic “Duration of tracheal occlusion matters in congenital diaphragmatic hernia” at the “20th World congress in Fetal Medicine” hosted by the Fetal Medicine Foundation between June 25th – 29th, 2023, in Valencia, Spain,

The World Congress in Fetal Medicine is designed for specialists in fetal-maternal medicine and a more general clinical interest who want to be updated on developments in the field. Leading international experts and young researchers will present and discuss the latest developments in fetal medicine.

Assoc. Prof. Tuangsit Wataganara, Chief of the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, was invited as a guest speaker to deliver a special lecture on the topic “Minimizing Procedure-related Complications” at the “TWINS Congress 2023: The Joint 6th World Congress on Twin Pregnancy: a Global Perspective & The 18th Congress of the International Society for Twin Studies (ISTS)” during June 15th – 17th, 2023, in Budapest, Hungary.

The TWINS Congress 2023 aims to revive the interest in maternal and neonatal care; to foster education, research, and advocacy in maternal, periconceptional, and neonatal medicine and care worldwide; to promote and disseminate the study, research and knowledge on the aspects of maternal, periconceptional and neonatal medicine, to attain a higher level of physical and mental health for women, mothers, and their children; and collaboration between various disciplines interested in maternal, perception, and perinatal care as well as friendship between individuals from different world countries that will lead to improving the quality and provision of care in the world!

On June 9th, 2023, the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Unit, Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, conducted an academic webinar on fetal neurology, “The 2nd Siriraj Maternal Fetal Medicine Conference FETAL NEUROLOGY” to disseminate new knowledge in the field of Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) for the MFM physicians, resident, fellows, and nurses. This webinar has a total number, both inside and outside Siriraj, of more than 111 participants.
