This research is a collaborative research project between Dr. Suyanee and other world-renowned researchers such as Prof. Ciro Isidoro from the University of Eastern Piedmont Amedeo Avogadro, Italy, and Assoc. Prof. Nisana Namwat from Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, and more!

“Cancers” is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal of oncology published semimonthly online by MDPI and has an Impact Factor of 5.968!

The Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology (JAAD) Volume 85, Issue 5, November 01, 2021, the official scientific publication of the American Academy of Dermatology, has published the research article “Ocular manifestations of facial port-wine stain, nevus of Ota, and phakomatosis pigmentovascularis in Asian patients” (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jaad.2020.04.169) by Dr. Nootchanard Rujimethapass, Prof. Woraphong Manuskiatti, Assoc. Prof. Rungsima Wanitphakdeedecha from Department of Dermatology, and Assist. Prof. Sakaorat Petchyim from Department of Ophthalmology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, to investigate the prevalence of glaucoma in patients with facial port-wine stains (PWSs), nevus of Ota, and phakomatosis pigmentovascularis (PPV) to establish the association between facial vascular birthmarks and ocular complications.

The Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology (JAAD) features original medical education articles designed to fill practice and knowledge gaps in the delivery of dermatologic care. The JAAD is ranked 1st out of 68 in the Dermatology category in the 2020 Journal Citation Reports®, published by Clarivate Analytics, and has an Impact Factor of 11.527!

Siriraj Won “National Research Award 2021”

Chaweewan Bunnag, Assoc. Prof. Vanna Mahakittikun, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nitat Sookrung, Prof. Emer. Dr. Wanpen Chaicumpa, Prof. Nualanong Visitsunthorn, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Anchalee Tungtrongchitr, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pongsakorn Tantilipikorn, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Nat Malainual, has been awarded the “National Research Council of Thailand Award of Distinguished Invention 2021″ for their development of “Dust Mite Allergy Diagnostic Test & Therapeutic Vaccine.”

Siriraj Attended “XXV World Congress of Neurology”

On October 4th, 2021, Assoc. Prof. Sith Sathornsumetee from Division of Neurology, Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, was invited to attend a virtual conference “XXV World Congress of Neurology” and delivered an online training course on the topic “Paraneoplastic and Other Encephalitides in Cancer Patients” in the session “TEACHING COURSE – NEURO-ONCOLOGY (WFN/SOCIETY OF NEURO-ONCOLOGY JOINT SESSION): CURRENT TOPICS IN NEURO-ONCOLOGY” together with world-renown invited speakers such as Patrick Wen from Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School, Tracy Batchelor from Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Amy Pruitt from University of Pennsylvania, and moderated by Michael Weller from University of Zurich.

The XXV World Congress of Neurology (XXV WCN) brings together leading scientists, public health experts, policy-makers to translate recent momentous scientific advances into action that will address means to end the epidemic within the current context of significant global economic challenges. The XXV WCN will have a positive impact on the topics of the congress response globally with the following objectives;

  • To bring together the world’s scientific experts to catalyze and advance scientific knowledge about Neurology, present the most recent research findings, and promote and enhance scientific collaborations around the world.

Siriraj Won First Prize From “Princess Health Award 2021”

Congratulations to Prof. Dr. Prasit Watanapa, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, for being awarded and honored as the “First Prize Winner” from the “Princess Health Award 2021″ in the category of “Outstanding Achievements on Health Promotion and Environmental Health for Individual (Administration/Head of State)!

The  Department of Health, Ministry of Public Health, Thailand, has conducted the “Princess Health Award 2021” to award and honor the outstanding achievements on Health Promotion and Environmental health for individuals and organizations to recognize the contribution of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn to emphasizes the importance of health promotion and environmental health, and to enhance the people’s quality of life, works with devotion and endeavor, and also be a role model and inspiration for many people and organizations.

The medal, given by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, will be awarded to the Princess Health Award 2021 recipients in each category.

September 30th, 2021, the committee of Siriraj Medical Students Exchange Program 2022 (the academic year 2021) led by Assoc. Prof. Prapat Wanitpongpan, Deputy Dean for International Relations, along with the Assistant Deans for International Relations: Assoc. Prof. Sith Sathornsumetee and Asst. Prof. Warut Pongsapich, conducted the English Interview to select the most eligible of Siriraj 2nd-year medical students to undertake the research elective in 2022.
