Welcome, Prof. Gregory J. Bancroft, Professor of London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, UK, to serve as Siriraj International Visiting Scholars at the Department of Immunology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, starting from May 22nd–June 2nd, 2022.

Prof. Bancroft is specialized in immunology, modeling, and vaccinology, with over 30 years of experience in this field. His current research relates to understanding the mechanisms of pathogenesis and the development of novel vaccines against two critical pathogenic bacteria, M. tuberculosis, and B. pseudomallei. Also, he uses approaches of experimental modeling, cell mediated immunity, and imaging in studies on the causative agent of melioidosis (B. pseudomallei), a significant cause of septic death in rural Thailand and northern Australia.

Clin. Prof. Chanean Ruansetakit, the Chairman of the Department of Surgery, along with the executive members of the Division of Trauma Surgery: Assoc. Prof. Chumpol Wongwanit, Head, Division of Vascular Surgery, Assoc. Prof. Kris Keorochana, Lecturer of Division of Trauma Surgery and Asst. Prof. Tongporn Wannatoop, welcomed Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tal Martin Hörer, a specialist in Vascular Surgery, Trauma, Endovascular and Hybrid Methods for Resuscitation and Bleeding Control from the Department of Cardio-Thoracic and Vascular Surgery and Department of Surgery, Örebro University Hospital and University, Sweden, to serve as a visiting scholar at the Division of Trauma Surgery, Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, starting from April 24th – 28th, 2023.

Welcome Assoc. Prof. Mari Hagiwara, a professor specializing in Neuroradiology, from the Department of Radiology, New York University (NYU) Grossman School of Medicine, USA, to serve as the Siriraj International Visiting Scholar at the Department of Radiology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, from February 13th – 21st, 2023.

On December 28th, 2022, Assoc. Prof. Prapat Wanitpongpan, the Deputy Dean for Corporate Communications and International Relations, welcomed Prof. Sang Do Shin from the Department of Emergency Medicine, Seoul National University College of Medicine, to serve as an International Visiting Scholar at the Department of Emergency Medicine, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, from December 26th, 2022 to April 22nd, 2023.

Welcome, Prof. Klaas Postema, Professor of Rehabilitation, Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, University Medical Center Groningen, the Netherlands, to serve as the “Siriraj International Visiting Scholar” at the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, starting from November 28th – December 9th, 2022. While on his duty at Siriraj, Prof. Postema also donated his book “Pedorthic Footwear – Assessment and Treatment” (to share his knowledge of different aspects concerning pedorthic footwear with all the different professionals that are involved in foot care) to the Siriraj Medical Library.
