Department of Ophthalmology Hosts Distinguished Japanese Neuro-Ophthalmologist for Academic Exchange
The Department of Ophthalmology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, welcomed Professor Toshiaki Goseki, MD, PhD, a renowned neuro-ophthalmologist from the International University of Health and Welfare Atami Hospital in Japan, as part of an ongoing academic collaboration initiative.
During his visit, Prof. Goseki delivered a special lecture titled “Sagging Eye Syndrome: The Most Common and Often Overlooked Cause of Adult Diplopia” on June 2, 2026, via Zoom application. The presentation was moderated by Professor Niphon Chirapapaisan, MD, from the Department of Ophthalmology.
The lecture attracted ophthalmologists, residents, and fellows, focusing on a critical yet frequently misdiagnosed condition affecting adult patients. Prof. Goseki‘s expertise in neuro-ophthalmology provided valuable insights into diagnostic approaches and treatment strategies for sagging eye syndrome.
