From May 31st – June 3rd, 2024, Asst. Prof. Witchaya Srisuwatchari, M.D., of the Division of Allergy and Immunology, Department of Pediatric, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, attended and presented a Flash Talk (Oral) Presentation on the topic, “Utility of epitope-specific IgE, IgG4, and IgG1 antibodies for the diagnosis of wheat allergy” at the “European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) Annual Meeting 2024” in Valencia, Spain.

From May 28th – June 1st, 2024, Assoc. Prof. Teerada Ploypetch, M.D., Director of the Division of Pediatric Rehabilitation, Department of Rehabilitation, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, attended and presented a research poster presentation “Innovative ultrasound guided tibial motor branch block for treatment of ankle spasticity comparing with the conventional electrical stimulation guided phenol tibial neurolysis in children with cerebral palsy, a double-blinded randomized controlled trial” at the “36th European Academy of Childhood-onset Disability (EACD) Annual Meeting 2024″ in Bruges, Belgium.

The European Academy of Childhood-onset Disability (EACD) is an international not-for-profit association founded in 1989. It is an association for anyone with a clinical and/or scientific interest in childhood-onset disabilities in Europe and beyond. EACD’s mission is to promote research and education for the benefit of people with childhood-onset disabilities throughout Europe and beyond.

From May 17th – 22nd, 2024, Asst. Prof. Krittika Teerapuncharoen, M.D., of the Division of Respiratory Disease and Tuberculosis, Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, attended the “American Thoracic Society Conference 2024 (ATS 2024)” in San Diego, USA, to present a poster presentation on the topic “Factors Associated with Progression of Interstitial Lung Disease in Patients with Systemic Sclerosis (SSc-ILD)”. The ATS 2024 showcases the latest advances and discoveries in respiratory science, patient care, and global respiratory health, making a significant impact on the future of the field.

Asst. Prof. Teerapuncharoen’s participation will benefit Siriraj Hospital in several ways:

Doctor Onuma Sattayalertyanyong, M.D., from Siriraj GI Endoscopy Center, Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, attended and delivered an oral presentation on the topic “Jumbo Forceps Biopsy is Comparable to Cold Snare Polypectomy in Complete Polyp Resection for 3-8 mm Colorectal Polyps: A Prospective Randomized Controlled Trial” at the “Digestive Disease Week® (DDW) 2024” in Washington, D.C., USA, between May 18th – 21st, 2024. The DDW is the premier meeting for professionals working in gastroenterology, hepatology, GI endoscopy, gastrointestinal surgery, and related fields.

From May 16th – 20th, 2024, Assoc. Prof. Chenchit Chayachinda, M.D., a lecturer of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, was invited as a guest speaker on the topic “Molecular Diagnosis Versus Wet Preparation for Treatment Initiation in Women With Abnormal Vaginal Discharge: a Cost-minimization Analysis” at “The 28th Asia & Oceania Federation of Obstetrics & Gynaecology (AOFOG)” in Busan, Republic of Korea.

From May 17th – 19th, 2024, Asst. Prof. Karuna Wongtangman, M.D., a Vice Chair of Perioperative Quality and Safety, Department of Anesthesiology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, attended and delivered an oral abstract presentation at the “International Anesthesia Research Society Meeting 2024” in Seattle, USA, on the topic “Ketamine-Fentanyl Versus Fentanyl for Analgosedation in Postoperative Intensive Care Patients: A Randomized Controlled Trial”. This participation aims to refine the manuscript and implement its findings in patient care.

On May 14th – 17th, 2024 Assoc. Prof. Gulapar Srisawasdi, M.D., C.Ped., Director of Sirindhorn School of Prosthetics and Orthotics (SSPO), has been invited as a guest speaker at the “OT World 2024” in Leipzig, Germany, to deliver a special lecture titled “Past-Present-Future of SSPO” as part of the session on “Training Opportunities Nationally and Internationally.”

Asst. Prof. Ladawan Khowawisetsut, Ph.D., a lecturer of the Department of Parasitology and a member of the Siriraj Center of Research Excellence for Microparticle and Exosome in Diseases, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, attended and presented a research poster at the “International Society for Extracellular Vesicles (ISEV) Annual Meeting”. The event occurred from May 7th – 12th, 2024, in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

Asst. Prof. Khowawisetsut’s poster, titled “Extracellular Vesicles Derived from Naegleria Fowleri Stimulate Cytokine Production by Innate Immune Cells” showcased her latest findings. The meeting allowed her to update her knowledge and learn about advanced technologies that are valuable for enhancing her research. She also had the chance to connect with leading international researchers in parasitology and explore potential collaborations.

The ISEV Annual Meeting is the premier international event dedicated to extracellular vesicles (EVs) in basic science, innovative research, and clinical applications.
