Ms. Kornrat Pimeaim, Pharm.D, a senior professional pharmacist from the Out-patient Pharmaceutical Care Unit, Out-patient Pharmacy Division, Pharmacy Department Siriraj Hospital, attended “The 9th Asia Pacific Region Conference of the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease” in Taipei, Taiwan, from April 26th – 30th, 2024, and presented a poster presentation on the topic “Outcomes of telepharmacy focus on drug-related problems and medication errors in multidrug-resistant tuberculosis patients at the tertiary-care hospital, Thailand”. Pharmacist Pimeaim sought to elevate Siriraj Hospital’s profile within the healthcare community by demonstrating the critical role of pharmacists in interdisciplinary patient care, ultimately contributing to enhanced patient care efficiency.

The 9th Asia Pacific Region Conference of the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease aims to share cutting-edge knowledge, promote higher-quality prevention and care, and ultimately eliminate the suffering caused by lung diseases. From April 18th – 20th, 2024, Assoc. Prof. Nuttawut Sermsathanasawadi, M.D., Ph.D., from the Division of Vascular Surgery, Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, attended and presented a research abstract on the topic “Effectiveness of Cyanoacrylate Closure and Compression Compared with Compression Therapy Alone in Healing of Venous Leg Ulcers Caused by Superficial Vein Reflux, a Randomized Controlled Trial” at the “International Vein Congress 2024 (IVC Miami 2024)” in Miami, USA. This congress provided Assoc. Prof. Sermsathanasawadi the opportunity to exchange valuable knowledge with leading international experts in vascular surgery and explore potential collaborations.

From April 13th – 16th, 2024, Assoc. Prof. Pramote Euasobhon, M.D., from the Division of Pain Medicine, Department of Anesthesiology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, was invited as a guest speaker at the “World Congress of Nephrology 2024 (WCN2024)” in Buenos Aires, Argentina, to present on the topic “Non-pharmacologic Management of Pain in Chronic Kidney Disease”. Upon his return, Siriraj Hospital will benefit from his international collaboration with leading experts in the field. The knowledge gained from the conference will be applied to patient care at Siriraj Hospital.

From April 5th – 10th, 2024, Assoc. Prof. Adisak Wongkajornsilp, M.D., Ph.D., from the Department of Pharmacology, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, attended The American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Annual Meeting 2024 in San Diego, USA, and delivered a poster presentation on the topic “Reversal of dysfunctional CIK cells after the exposure to resistant cholangiocarcinoma cells through chemical perturbation of resistant gene signature.”
